Success Tips for the Recruiter - co-created by Master Teachers

  • Know that your mission is to help each candidate by finding them the best fit company and work for them.  As you can see from your search firm website, you can - and should - place each candidate with the company and work that fits them best, not the company that pays you the most.  You determine the best fit for each candidate by asking them the screening questions on your search firm website, such as:
  • Bookmark this page http://Discover-It.today on the home screen of your smartphone, or at least in the web browser on your smartphone.

  • Your ultimate success, and earnings, depend on you being in the habit of sourcing and screening at least 6 potential candidates every working day (at least 5 days every week).  To create that daily success habit from Day 1 , install and use one of these habit creating apps on your smartphone every day (search Habit in your app store to find the most popular apps on your smartphone, and pick the one that best suits your personality):
    • Android - Habit Bull, Rewire, Habit Streak, HabitRPG, Coach.me
    • Apple - Way of Life, Balanced, Productive, Momentum Habit Tracker, Habit Streaks, Habit Hero, Good Habit Maker, Habitica, HabitRPG, Coach.me
  • The speed of your success, and earnings, depends on you:
    • Asking for help from - and working as an apprentice alongside - your manager and mentors every working day (at least 5 days every week).  Use your group support room app for this (or group email, messaging, phone, or video calls).
    • Portraying yourself as a professional recruiter by regularly sharing with people your LinkedIn profile http://www.LinkedIn.com , on which you have included:
      • All of your work and learning history, including the addition of your new role as a Lead Recruiter with a search firm, such as:
        • Work Life Balance
      • All of your contact information that you want candidates to use to reach you.

How to Source and Screen Candidates:

  • Speak or copy/paste one of the bolded paragraphs below as a natural part of many conversations every working day with people in your country or community who:
    • Are looking for part time, full time, second job, or other additional work, including people who post resumes on job sites, visit community employment centers, attend job fairs, or mention online or in person that they are looking for work.
      • Searching resume posters on Craigslist via http://www.searchtempest.com is a good place to start, without needing to invest money.
      • Searching professional profiles on LinkedIn via http://www.linkedin.com is a great resource; you may want to invest money in an upgraded membership to save your time.
    • Are saying in person, online, or over the phone that they need, want, or desire work More (or complain about not having enough):
      • Time
      • Money
      • Fulfillment
      • Support at work
    • Interact with a lot of people (e.g. use the first bolded paragraph to ask for referrals), including your store clerks, transportation drivers, and service providers.
  • Know that different types of conversations communicate emotion and create potential for trust differently.
    • In person conversation - 100% emotion communicated and potential for trust created
    • Video call conversation - 90%/80% emotion (body&face/face) communicated and potential for trust created
    • Phone call conversation - 45% emotion communicated and potential for trust created
    • Social media, text, or other textual conversation - 7% emotion communicated and potential for trust created

Do you know anyone who is looking for better work life balance?  For more flexible, higher paying, more fulfilling work, with the support of great leaders?
